The Festival Chorus was founded 21 years ago by Musical Director - Roy Sarre, and has grown rapidly to over 70 voices.
The Choir has had numerous successes over the years. It has filled churches and concert halls nationwide and featured on
BBC and ITV television programmes as well as local radio. It has had notable successes in the Guernsey Eisteddfod in 2001
and 2003 and performs regularly in local events such as the Town Carnival and other Guernsey celebrations. "Voices for Hospices"
took place in October 2003.
A proud moment was when the Choir took part in the 1,000 voice Choir at the Royal Albert Hall in London and also when it
sings with 400 Welsh voices in St David's Hall, Cardiff.
The Holiday-maker concerts in June and July proved popular with tourists from all over the World. In recognition
of this and as part of our Millennium special events, we launched a website on 19th June 2000 to keep all our followers
up-to-date on events. A new website was established in September 2008.
The Choir regularly tours Jersey churches and performs annually in Sark. Every year it also leads Carol Singing
in the streets of St. Peter Port in the run-up to Christmas.
In 2006, we featured in the BBC TV Songs of Praise programme and BBC Radio 2 Sunday Half Hour broadcasts.
The Choir has also recorded two live concert CDs with the most recent Heart Sing produced
in 2006. Full details of the original CD are on this website. A new CD is planned for January 2009.
The Choir has the support of many professional Christian artists and performers.
